H07RN-F is the classic heavy rubber cable for 450/750 V: EPR insulation with a polychloroprene sheath that withstands oil, weather, ozone and UV. In the Netherlands this cable is also known as NWPK. The workhorse for construction sites, machines and temporary installations, indoors and out. Supplied to order; the lead time is stated in the quote.
H07RN-F is a harmonised heavy-duty flexible cable to EN 50525-2-21 with EPR rubber insulation and a polychloroprene (or equivalent synthetic elastomer) sheath, rated 450/750 V. It is intended for industrial, agricultural and construction-site use under high mechanical stress, for the connection of portable tools, machines, motors, pumps, heating equipment and temporary installations, in dry, damp and wet locations, outdoors and, for the permitted sizes, in water. The cable is oil-, weather-, ozone- and UV-resistant; it is not intended for continuous reeling or forced-guided use.
Also known as: neoprene cable · rubber cable · NWPK
Applications
- Connection of portable tools, machines, motors and pumps.
- Construction sites, industry and agriculture under high mechanical stress.
- Outdoors and, for the permitted sizes, in water.
What to look out for
- Not for motorised reels or drag chains; for those use a drag-chain cable (PUR-JZ) or a reeling cable such as NSHTOEU.
- For low-smoke/halogen-free choose H07ZZ-F.
- H07RN-F falls outside EN 50575 and so has no CPR class. Where the cable is installed permanently in a building and exposed to indoor air, the Bbl requires at least Dca, and B2ca in a tunnel; choose a cable with that class there.
- On long extension leads check the voltage drop: 3G2.5 is already tight above about 50 m at 16 A.
- Conductor
- Fine-wire stranded plain (bare) annealed copper, class 5 to IEC/EN 60228.
- Insulation
- EPR rubber (compound EI 4 to EN 50363-1).
- Sheath
- Polychloroprene (CR) or equivalent synthetic elastomer (compound EM 2 to EN 50363-2-1), round; black.
- Core colours
- To HD 308 S2: 1 core black; 2 cores brown, blue; 3 cores (G) green/yellow, brown, blue; 3 cores (X) brown, black, grey; 4 cores (G) green/yellow, brown, black, grey; 4 cores (X) blue, brown, black, grey; 5 cores (G) green/yellow, blue, brown, black, grey; 5 cores (X) blue, brown, black, grey, black; 7 cores and more black with white numbers plus one green/yellow core.
- Rated voltage Uo/U
- 450/750 V.
- Test voltage
- 2.5 kV.
- Standard
- EN 50525-2-21.
- Flame-retardant
- IEC/EN 60332-1-2.
- Conductor standard
- IEC/EN 60228 class 5.

H07RN-F or H07BQ-F?
H07RN-F
- polychloroprene sheath
- 60 °C conductor temperature
- single-core up to 630 mm²
H07BQ-F
- PUR sheath
- 90 °C conductor temperature
- up to 16 mm²
H07RN-F has a polychloroprene sheath that withstands oil, weather, ozone and UV, and comes from 1 mm² up to 630 mm² single-core. H07BQ-F has a PUR sheath that resists wear even better, is designed for a 90 °C conductor temperature instead of 60 °C and goes up to 16 mm². Choose H07RN-F for supplies, pumps and large cross-sections, and H07BQ-F for tools and cables that are dragged across the site a lot.

H07RN-F
- 60 °C conductor temperature
H07BN4-F
- 90 °C conductor temperature
Both are heavy-duty rubber cables for 450/750 V. H07BN4-F is designed for a 90 °C conductor temperature and H07RN-F for 60 °C, so at the same cross-section H07BN4-F may carry more current. Choose H07BN4-F for high currents or a lot of heat, such as on generating sets, cranes and conveyors. For ordinary site and machine connections H07RN-F is enough.

H07RN-F
- flexing down to −15 °C
H07ZZ-F
- flexing down to −5 °C
H07ZZ-F is the halogen-free counterpart: little smoke and no halogen acids in a fire, for public buildings, tunnels and events. H07RN-F may be flexed at lower temperatures, down to −15 °C against −5 °C for H07ZZ-F. Choose H07ZZ-F where low smoke and halogen-free are required, and H07RN-F for outdoor work in winter or where there is no low-smoke requirement.
