H07BQ-F
Flexible EPR/PUR rubber cable, class 5 Cu, 90 °C
H07BQ-F is the site cable with a polyurethane (PUR) sheath: fine-stranded class 5 copper, EPR rubber insulation for 90 °C and a sheath that withstands dragging, oil and cold. Can be flexed down to −30 °C and installed fixed down to −40 °C. For tools, site distribution boards and temporary outdoor connections under heavy mechanical stress.
H07BQ-F is a heavy-duty flexible cable to EN 50525-2-21 (HD 22.10) for 450/750 V connection of power tools, site equipment, hoists, pumps and machinery under tough mechanical and chemical conditions. The fine-stranded class 5 copper conductors are insulated with cross-linked ethylene-propylene rubber (EPR/EI6), laid up, and protected by an abrasion-, oil- and weather-resistant polyurethane (PUR) outer sheath. The PUR sheath and rubber insulation make the cable tough, cold-flexible and resistant to oils, greases and mechanical wear, so H07BQ-F is used where ordinary PVC or rubber flexibles would not survive. The cross-linked EPR insulation (EI6) gives a +90 °C conductor rating.
Also known as: PUR cable
Applications
- Construction sites: connecting tools and site distribution boards that drag over the ground.
- Cold stores and outdoors in winter: flexing down to −30 °C, fixed down to −40 °C.
- Workshops with oil and coolant: the PUR sheath is abrasion and oil resistant.
What to look out for
- Outside the scope of the CPR: for fixed installation in buildings where the Bbl requires a fire class, choose an installation cable such as YMvK Cca.
- Class 5: ferrules in plugs and enclosures.
- On long site cables (over 50 m) check the voltage drop; 2.5 mm² is often too small then.
- Conductor
- Fine-wire strand of plain annealed copper, class 5 acc. to IEC 60228.
- Insulation
- Cross-linked ethylene-propylene rubber (EPR), type EI6.
- Core identification
- Colour-coded per HD 308 S2 (with green/yellow), or numbered per order.
- Sheath
- Polyurethane (PUR / TMPU), abrasion-, oil- and weather-resistant; typically orange.
- Rated voltage Uo/U
- 450/750 V.
- Test voltage
- 2.5 kV AC.
- Standard
- EN 50525-2-21 (HD 22.10); conductor acc. to IEC 60228, class 5.
- Reaction to fire (CPR)
- Outside the scope of EN 50575 (flexible connection cable).
- Flame-retardant
- IEC/EN 60332-1-2.
- Max. conductor temperature
- +90 °C (short circuit +250 °C, max. 5 s).
- Permitted outer cable temperature, flexing
- −30 °C to +80 °C.
- Permitted outer cable temperature, fixed
- −40 °C to +90 °C.

H07BQ-F or H07RN-F?
H07BQ-F
- PUR sheath
- 90 °C conductor temperature
H07RN-F
- polychloroprene sheath
- 60 °C conductor temperature
Both are flexible 450/750 V cables with EPR insulation. H07BQ-F has a PUR sheath that is more abrasion-resistant than the polychloroprene sheath of H07RN-F, and is designed for a 90 °C conductor temperature instead of 60 °C. H07RN-F does come in much larger cross-sections, single-core up to 630 mm². Choose H07BQ-F for tools and cables that are dragged across the site a lot, and H07RN-F for heavy supplies and large cross-sections.

H07BQ-F
- 450/750 V
- up to 16 mm²
- site distribution boards
H05BQ-F
- 300/500 V
- 0.75 and 1 mm²
- hand tools
The same construction, EPR insulation under a PUR sheath, but a different voltage class. H05BQ-F is 300/500 V and comes in 0.75 and 1 mm², for hand tools and portable equipment. H07BQ-F is 450/750 V and goes up to 16 mm², for site distribution boards and heavier connections. If you need more than 1 mm², or the connection calls for 450/750 V, choose H07BQ-F.
