Application

NSHTOEU is the heavy reeling cable: EPR cores under a PCP sheath with an anti-torsion layer, built for reeling drums and cranes that wind and unwind day in, day out. We supply it to order, with the lead time stated in the quote.

NSHTOEU (NSHTOEU-J) is a heavy-duty rubber reeling and trailing cable to DIN VDE 0250-814, rated 0.6/1 kV. The fine-wire class 5 copper conductors are insulated with EPR rubber, laid up around a central element and enclosed by a rubber inner sheath, an anti-torsion braid of textile (polyester) threads and a tough polychloroprene (PCP) outer sheath. It is designed for applications with very high mechanical stress that require frequent winding and unwinding with simultaneous tensile and torsional loading: cable reeling drums, cranes, hoists, conveying and lifting equipment, port and container cranes and other mobile machinery, indoors and outdoors. The cable is oil-, ozone-, weather- and abrasion-resistant.

Also known as: reeling cable · rubber reeling cable · crane cable

Applications

  • Cable reeling drums on cranes, hoists and container handling.
  • Mobile equipment with tensile and torsional load, indoors and outdoors.

What to look out for

  • Give the reel type, tensile force and any torsion (slew ring) with the enquiry; that decides the cross-section and core layout.
  • For trailing without a reel, NSSHOEU is often more suitable.

Which one do I choose?

NSHTOEU or NSSHOEU?

NSHTOEU

  • VDE 0250-814
  • anti-torsion textile braid

NSSHOEU

  • VDE 0250-812
  • no anti-torsion braid

Both are heavy rubber cables for 0.6/1 kV with EPR cores and a PCP outer sheath. NSHTOEU (VDE 0250-814) also has an anti-torsion textile braid under the outer sheath, which NSSHOEU (VDE 0250-812) lacks. This stops NSHTOEU from corkscrewing when the cable winds and unwinds under tension and torsion. If the cable is wound onto a motorised reel or drum, choose NSHTOEU; if it is only dragged along, NSSHOEU.

NSHTOEU or H07RN-F?

NSHTOEU

  • 0.6/1 kV
  • for continuous winding and unwinding

H07RN-F

  • 450/750 V
  • not for continuous reeling

H07RN-F is a heavy rubber cable for 450/750 V, but it is not made for continuous reeling or forced guidance. NSHTOEU is built for 0.6/1 kV and to wind and unwind day in, day out under tension and torsion, with an anti-torsion layer under the sheath. For reeling drums on cranes and container handling choose NSHTOEU, and H07RN-F for connections that are moved now and then.
