Who we are

Q Cables B.V. is the controller for the processing of personal data described in this privacy policy. Our contact details are at the bottom of this page. For privacy questions, email info@qcables.nl.

What data we process

We process the data you give us via the enquiry/quote form, by email or by telephone, plus what the form sends along with it. That is:

• your name and (optionally) company name;
• your email address and (optionally) telephone number;
• the content of your enquiry: cable type, specification, length, required delivery date and any notes (which may contain, for example, a project name or delivery address if you enter these yourself);
• technical data sent with the form: the language and the page from which you send the enquiry.

Purpose and legal basis

We use your data solely to handle your enquiry, provide a price and lead time, and communicate with you about a possible or ongoing order. The legal basis is the performance of (steps prior to) a contract at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). For follow-up within an existing business relationship our basis may be a legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell your data.

Who receives your data (processors)

To run the website and handle enquiries we use a few service providers that act as processors on our behalf:

• Web3Forms: processes the submission of the enquiry form and delivers its content to us by email. The data you enter is processed for this.
• Cloudflare: provides hosting and security for the website and supplies the (cookieless) visitor statistics.

Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Some of these providers may process data (partly) outside the European Economic Area. In that case we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. If you have questions about this, please contact us.

How long we keep data

Enquiries that do not lead to an order are kept no longer than necessary to handle and follow them up, and are deleted thereafter. If your enquiry leads to an order, we keep the related data as long as necessary for performance and for as long as we are legally required to (a seven-year fiscal retention obligation applies to financial records).

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify or erase your personal data, and to restrict or object to the processing. You also have the right to data portability. Send your request to info@qcables.nl; we respond within the statutory period. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

Security

The website is served over a secure connection (https). We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss or unlawful use.

Changes

We may amend this privacy policy. The current version is always on this page, with the date of the last change.
