H07Z-K
LSZH cross-linked flexible wire, halogen-free, 90 °C, 450/750 V
H07Z-K is the halogen-free single-core wire with cross-linked insulation (EI 5) for 90 °C: it gives a higher current rating than the thermoplastic H07V-K and H07Z1-K at the same cross-section. For wiring in public buildings where fire behaviour and capacity both matter. Supplied to order; the lead time is stated in the quote.
H07Z-K is a harmonised single-core, non-sheathed wire with a flexible plain copper conductor of class 5 and a halogen-free, low-smoke cross-linked (thermosetting) insulation of compound type EI 5, rated 450/750 V and manufactured in accordance with EN 50525-3-41. The cross-linked insulation permits a continuous conductor temperature of 90 °C, which gives a higher current-carrying capacity than the thermoplastic types H07V-K and H07Z1-K of the same cross-section. It is intended for fixed installation in conduit, trunking or closed installation ducts and for the internal wiring of switchgear, control panels and distribution boards, in particular where people, equipment or escape routes must be protected against corrosive gases and dense smoke in the event of fire. The wire is available in the cross-sections 1.5 to 240 mm² in a range of colours; it is not intended for direct burial, unprotected outdoor use or continuous flexing in service.
Also known as: halogen-free wire
Applications
- Wiring where a higher current rating per cross-section is wanted.
- Switchgear and distribution boards in public buildings.
- Fixed installation in conduit or duct with low-smoke requirements.
What to look out for
- The 90 °C rating only applies if terminals and equipment allow that temperature; otherwise you work with the 70 °C values and H07Z1-K is sufficient.
- Halogen-free and low smoke, but flame-retardant, not fire-resistant.
- CPR class Eca, even though H07Z-K is halogen-free. Where the wire runs through a cavity wall, above a suspended ceiling, under a raised floor or in surface-mounted conduit or trunking, the Bbl requires at least Dca; choose H07Z1-K (Cca) there. In conduit cast into concrete or concealed in a solid wall, Eca is sufficient, as it is for the wiring inside a control panel or machine.

H07Z-K or H07Z1-K?
H07Z-K
- cross-linked insulation
- 90 °C
H07Z1-K
- thermoplastic insulation
- 70 °C
Both are halogen-free and fine-stranded, for 450/750 V. H07Z-K has cross-linked insulation for 90 °C, H07Z1-K thermoplastic insulation for 70 °C. At 90 °C the wire may carry more current at the same cross-section, but only if terminals and equipment also permit that temperature. Choose H07Z-K for hot enclosures or where you really use that extra capacity; otherwise H07Z1-K is sufficient.

H07Z-K
- halogen-free and low-smoke
H07V2-K
- PVC wire
Both are 90 °C wires for 450/750 V with a fine-stranded conductor. H07Z-K is halogen-free and low-smoke; H07V2-K is PVC wire with UL and CSA approval. Choose H07Z-K where the specification calls for halogen-free wiring. If the machine or panel is going to North America, H07V2-K is the more obvious choice.
