Cables for EV charging hubs
A charging hub needs underground cable from the distribution board to every charge point: VO-YMvKas for the smaller cross-sections, VG-YMvKas for the larger ones and under paving. YMvK Cca runs in the plant room, and a large hub often gets its own medium voltage connection with NA2XS(F)2Y. VO-YMvKas up to 4×6 mm² and VG-YMvKas up to 4×240 mm² are held in stock in Dordrecht.
A charging hub is made up of many short cable runs of the same kind. We cut each run to length, label per charger if you wish and supply what is in stock.
From distribution board to charge point
Each charge point gets its own supply cable in the ground. VO-YMvKas, with a steel braid, suits the smaller cross-sections. VG-YMvKas, with steel wire armour, suits the larger ones and runs under paving. Neither has a green/yellow core: the earth runs through the earth strand (VO) or the earth screen in the armour (VG). For large cross-sections, VG-YMvKas Dca ALU with an aluminium conductor is an option.
Connection and plant room
A large charging hub, or one for lorries, often gets its own medium voltage connection: NA2XS(F)2Y up to the transformer station. In the plant room and out to the distribution boards, YMvK Cca is used. If the building calls for halogen-free cable, choose YMz1K.
Cut to length per charger
We cut each cable run to the length you give us and label it per charger. That way the right cable is waiting at every trench on site. If the hub is built in phases, we deliver on call-off.

Not seeing what you need? Just ask. Our range goes well beyond this list. Ask us →
Which cable to a charge point?
VO-YMvKas for the smaller cross-sections, VG-YMvKas for the larger ones or under paving. The cross-section depends on the charger's power and the length of the run.
Can you supply cable cut to length for each charger?
Yes. Give us the length per charger; we cut and label each run.
How quickly can the underground cable be on site?
Stock sizes: ordered before 12:00, usually on site within 1–2 working days. We supply medium voltage cable on request, with the lead time stated in the quote.
Which cable cross-section do I choose?
Four steps from design current to cross-section, and why voltage drop usually decides.
What is YMvKas?
The Dutch underground cable explained: the designation, VO versus VG, and what it is for.
How deep should an underground cable be buried?
Burial depth, cover and which cable may go in the ground.

Send the cable list
Send the number of chargers, the power per charger and the length of each cable run. We calculate the cross-sections and cut each run to length. Our advice is an aid; the responsible designer or installer checks it and makes the decision.
