YSLYSY-JZ
PVC steel-braided flexible control cable, 300/500 V
YSLYSY-JZ (also known as SY) is the control cable with a galvanised steel wire braid: mechanical protection where the cable may be knocked or pinched, plus a degree of screening. The transparent sheath shows the braid, so you spot damage or corrosion early. Supplied to order; the lead time is stated in the quote.
YSLYSY-JZ (also known as SY) is a flexible multicore control cable with class 5 plain copper conductors, PVC-insulated cores, a PVC inner sheath, a galvanised steel wire braid and a transparent PVC outer sheath, rated 300/500 V. The steel braid gives mechanical protection and a degree of screening, while the transparent sheath allows visual inspection of the braid for damage or corrosion. It is used for the interconnection of control, measuring and regulating equipment in machine tools, production and assembly lines, conveyors and air-conditioning plant, indoors or in dry to damp locations, for fixed installation and occasional flexing. It is not designed for continuous flexing, drag chains or burial outdoors. Where a low-smoke zero-halogen cable is required, specify an LSZH version instead.

Applications
- Control wiring in machine tools, conveyors and air-conditioning plant.
- Locations with a risk of mechanical damage where YSLY-JZ is too light.
- Applications where you need to check the steel braid for damage or corrosion.
What to look out for
- The steel braid is not a full EMC screen; for strict EMC requirements choose YSLYCY-JZ.
- Not for continuous flexing in drag chains or unprotected outdoor use.
- CPR class Eca. Where the cable is installed permanently in a building and exposed to indoor air, the Bbl requires at least Dca. The wiring inside a control panel or machine is not covered by that requirement, but the cables running to it are.

Both have a braid, but for a different purpose. YSLYSY-JZ has a galvanised steel wire braid under a transparent sheath, for mechanical protection. YSLYCY-JZ has a tinned copper braid as an EMC screen. Choose YSLYSY-JZ where the cable may be knocked or pinched, and YSLYCY-JZ where interference from drives or motors must be kept out of the cable.

The braid protects against knocks and pinching, and the sheath lets you see damage or corrosion on the braid. Choose YSLYSY-JZ where YSLY-JZ is mechanically too light, and YSLY-JZ in cabinets and trays.
