LiYCY is the standard screened data and signal cable: fine-stranded copper, PVC insulation, a tinned copper braid (about 70% coverage) and core colours to DIN 47100. For measuring, control and data signals indoors, where interference must be kept low. Four sizes are in stock in Dordrecht; other sizes on request.
LiYCY is a flexible, screened multicore data and signal cable with fine-stranded bare copper conductors, PVC core insulation, an overall braid of tinned copper wires and a grey PVC outer sheath. The braid screen limits the influence of external electrical interference on the transmitted signal and reduces the emission of the cable itself. The cable is intended for the transmission of low-voltage data, measuring and control signals in dry and damp indoor locations, for fixed installation or occasional flexing without tensile load. It is not intended for outdoor use, direct burial or power distribution.

Applications
- Transmission of measuring, control and data signals between equipment indoors.
- Wiring in switchboards and control systems where interference must be kept low.
- Fixed installation or occasional flexing without tensile load.
What to look out for
- Cores coloured to DIN 47100; if you want numbered cores (black with white digits), say so with the enquiry.
- CPR class Eca. Where the cable is installed permanently in a building and exposed to indoor air, the Bbl requires at least Dca. The wiring inside a control panel or machine is not covered by that requirement, but the cables running to it are.
- Earth the screen at one end for analogue signals, at both ends for digital buses and HF interference.
- Conductor
- Fine-stranded bare copper (class 5 acc. to IEC 60228 from 0.5 mm²).
- Insulation
- PVC.
- Screen
- Braid of tinned copper wires over the stranded cores, optical coverage approx. 70%.
- Sheath
- PVC, grey.
- Core identification
- Colour code acc. to DIN 47100.
- Rated voltage
- 250 V (peak operating voltage, not for power applications).
- Test voltage
- 1,200 V.
- Standard
- Manufacturer specification based on DIN VDE 0812; conductor class 5 acc. to IEC 60228 (from 0.5 mm²); core colours acc. to DIN 47100.
- Flame-retardant
- Acc. to IEC/EN 60332-1-2.
- Max. conductor temperature
- +70 °C.
- Permitted outer cable temperature, fixed
- −30 °C to +70 °C.
- Permitted outer cable temperature, flexing
- −5 °C to +70 °C.
- Min. bending radius, fixed
- 10 × outer diameter.
- Min. bending radius, flexing
- 15 × outer diameter.
LiYCY or LiYCY-TP?
LiYCY
- cores laid in layers
LiYCY-TP
- cores twisted in pairs
Both have PVC insulation and a tinned copper braid. In LiYCY the cores are laid in layers, in LiYCY-TP they are twisted in twos to form pairs. The pairs suppress crosstalk between the circuits in the cable; the braid keeps external interference out. Choose LiYCY-TP when several signals each use their own pair, and LiYCY for individual control signals.

YSLYCY-JZ
- control cable
- 300/500 V
- from 0.5 mm²
- black and numbered
LiYCY is a data and signal cable for 250 V, with thin cores from 0.14 mm² coloured to DIN 47100. YSLYCY-JZ is a control cable for 300/500 V, with black numbered cores from 0.5 mm² and a green/yellow core from three cores up. For control circuits at 230 V choose YSLYCY-JZ; LiYCY is intended for signals and data, not for power distribution.
