YSLY-OZ
PVC flexible control cable without earth core, 300/500 V
YSLY-OZ is the unscreened PVC control cable without a green/yellow earth core (OZ): all cores black and numbered, class 5 copper. For circuits that need no earth core in the cable. If you do need a protective conductor, choose the JZ version. Supplied to order; the lead time is stated in the quote.
YSLY-OZ is a flexible multicore control cable with fine-wire stranded plain copper conductors, PVC core insulation and a grey PVC outer sheath, rated 300/500 V. All cores are black and identified by printed white numbers; the cable has no green/yellow protective conductor (OZ configuration) and is unscreened. It is used for control and signal circuits in machinery, switchgear, plant construction and industrial installations, in fixed installation and with occasional free movement without tensile load, in dry and damp indoor locations. Where a protective conductor is needed, choose the JZ version with a green/yellow core.
Also known as: control cable
Applications
- Control circuits where earthing runs elsewhere in the installation, not in the cable.
- Machine building and switchgear with numbered cores for fast termination.
- Fixed installation and occasional movement without tensile load, indoors.
What to look out for
- OZ has no green/yellow earth core; do not confuse it with the JZ version that does.
- Unscreened: alongside drives or motor cables, choose YSLYCY-OZ.
- CPR class Eca. Where the cable is installed permanently in a building and exposed to indoor air, the Bbl requires at least Dca. The wiring inside a control panel or machine is not covered by that requirement, but the cables running to it are.

YSLY-OZ or YSLY-JZ?
YSLY-OZ
- no green/yellow core
YSLY-JZ
- green/yellow core from three cores
The difference is the green/yellow core. YSLY-JZ has a green/yellow protective conductor from three cores up. In YSLY-OZ all cores are black and numbered, without a green/yellow core. Choose YSLY-OZ if earthing runs elsewhere in the installation or all cores carry signals; if the protective conductor must be in the cable, choose YSLY-JZ.

YSLY-OZ
- no screen
YSLYCY-OZ
- tinned copper braid
Both have black, numbered cores without a green/yellow core, for 300/500 V. YSLYCY-OZ also has a PVC inner sheath with a tinned copper braid as a screen. The braid limits pick-up and emission, provided the screen is properly earthed. Choose YSLYCY-OZ alongside drives and motor cables, and YSLY-OZ in an environment without interference.
