N2XH
Halogen-free power cable, 0.6/1 kV
N2XH is the halogen-free power cable for 0.6/1 kV: XLPE insulation and an LSZH sheath that give little smoke and no corrosive gases in a fire. For supply and distribution in public buildings, data centres and on escape routes where the Bbl requires Dca. Class Cca-s1,d1,a1 as standard; for an extra protected escape route there is the B2ca version. Supplied to order; the lead time is stated in the quote.
N2XH is a halogen-free power cable for a rated voltage of 0.6/1 kV to DIN VDE 0276-604 (HD 604 S1), with plain copper conductors (solid class 1 / stranded class 2), cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) core insulation and a halogen-free, low-smoke (LSZH) outer sheath. In the event of fire it is flame-retardant, emits no corrosive halogen gases and produces little smoke, which stays transparent, so it is used for fixed power distribution in buildings and installations with high safety requirements and heavy occupancy (public buildings, data centres and escape routes where the Bbl requires Dca). The XLPE insulation permits a maximum conductor temperature of 90 °C. It is available as single-core and 2- to 5-core cables from 1.5 to 300 mm².

Applications
- Power distribution in buildings with high safety requirements and heavy occupancy.
- Public buildings and data centres; on an extra protected escape route the B2ca version.
- Supply to distribution boards and circuits where low smoke is mandatory.
What to look out for
- Halogen-free and low smoke, but flame-retardant, not fire-resistant.
- XLPE allows a 90 °C conductor temperature: at the same cross-section IEC 60364-5-52 gives about 15 to 25% more current than PVC (70 °C) in the ground, and about 20 to 35% in air or in conduit, provided terminals and equipment permit it.
- For 300/500 V indoor installation, NHXMH is the choice.

N2XH is a 0.6/1 kV power cable with XLPE insulation for 90 °C, NHXMH a 300/500 V installation cable for 70 °C. Both are halogen-free and low-smoke. Use N2XH for supplying distribution boards; for final circuits in plaster, masonry and concrete, choose NHXMH.

N2XH and YMz1K have the same construction: copper cores, XLPE insulation for 90 °C and a halogen-free sheath, for 0.6/1 kV. N2XH follows the German DIN VDE 0276-604, YMz1K the Dutch NEN 3618. In a Dutch specification YMz1K is the usual designation; for a German specification, N2XH.
