Cables for solar and wind projects
A solar park needs three kinds of cable: DC string cable (H1Z2Z2-K, 1.5 kV DC, EN 50618), low voltage cable between inverters and transformers (YMvKas, RV-K) and medium voltage cable for the grid connection (NA2XS(F)2Y, 12/20 kV). Q Cables supplies all three, the MV cable to route length, with the lead time stated with the price. A wind project has no DC strings and so needs no string cable.
Grid congestion makes every connection precious and every week of delay expensive. We supply the cable for the whole park, from string to grid connection, with the length breakdown fixed up front and phased on call-off.
From string to grid connection
The DC side calls for H1Z2Z2-K to EN 50618: 1.5 kV DC, halogen-free, UV resistant and rated to 120 °C for 20,000 hours. The standard sizes from 2.5 to 25 mm² in black and red carry the TÜV mark. On the AC side the low voltage runs from inverter to transformer station over YMvKas or RV-K, depending on installation and flexibility.
The grid connection is medium voltage. NA2XS(F)2Y at 12/20 kV in aluminium is the common choice for the link to the network operator’s station; N2XS(F)2Y in copper where space or current density demands it. With cable pooling, where solar and wind share one connection, the screen cross-section and short-circuit withstand matter even more.
Lead time drives the schedule
A park waits for its connection. We supply common MV types and large volumes on request; the lead time is stated in the quote. We fix the length breakdown before production, so you do not pay for remnants and the drums match the pulling pits.

Do you supply the MV cable to route length?
Yes. The cable is produced to route length, with drum lengths matched to the pulling pits and the available equipment.
Which PV cable is TÜV certified?
The H1Z2Z2-K carries the TÜV Rheinland mark in the standard sizes from 2.5 to 25 mm², in black and red. The datasheet also lists AENOR, RETIE, RoHS and CE.
Can you deliver in phases during construction?
Yes. We fix the delivery dates per construction phase and deliver on call-off, so drums do not sit on site for weeks.
