Application

RZ1-K (AS) is the halogen-free counterpart of RV-K: the same flexible 0.6/1 kV cable with fine-stranded class 5 copper and XLPE, but with a green halogen-free sheath and class Cca-s1b,d1,a1. Supplied to order; the lead time is stated in the quote.

RZ1-K (AS) is a halogen-free, flexible 0.6/1 kV power cable to UNE 21123-4 for power transmission and distribution in fixed indoor and outdoor installations and for industrial use. It can be installed on open supports, in conduit or buried. Fine-stranded class 5 copper with XLPE insulation for 90 °C, under a green halogen-free sheath. Low smoke and limited fire propagation: class Cca-s1b,d1,a1.

Halogen-freeFlexibleCca

Applications

  • Fixed supply to distribution boards, machines and installations in buildings where the Bbl requires Dca or Cca.
  • Awkward cable routes indoors and outdoors, on cable trays and in conduit.
  • In the ground or in a buried duct, where the specification asks for halogen-free.

What to look out for

  • Class 5 conductor: use ferrules or crimp lugs, never bare under a screw terminal.
  • Not in an extra protected escape route: there the Bbl requires B2ca with smoke class s1.
  • Install from 0 °C, measured on the cable itself. Warm a cold cable first, for example in a heated room.

Which one do I choose?

RZ1-K (AS) or RV-K?

RZ1-K (AS)

  • green halogen-free sheath
  • class Cca-s1b,d1,a1

RV-K

  • black PVC sheath
  • class Eca

The same flexible construction. RV-K has a black PVC sheath and class Eca; RZ1-K (AS) has a green halogen-free sheath and Cca-s1b,d1,a1. Where the cable is installed permanently in a building and exposed to indoor air, the Bbl requires at least Dca: choose RZ1-K (AS) there.
