NSSHOEU is the heavy trailing cable: EPR cores under a tough PCP sheath, notch- and abrasion-resistant for cranes, conveyors and mobile equipment in the harshest settings. Supplied to order; the lead time is stated in the quote.
NSSHOEU (NSSHOEU-O / NSSHOEU-J) is a heavy rubber trailing cable to DIN VDE 0250-812, rated 0.6/1 kV, for connections subject to very high mechanical stress. The fine-wire class 5 copper conductors are EPR-insulated, laid up and enclosed by a rubber inner sheath and a tough polychloroprene (PCP) outer sheath. It is used as a connecting and trailing cable for cranes, conveyors, hoists and mobile equipment in surface and underground mining, on building sites, in heavy industry, indoors and outdoors. The cable is oil-, ozone-, chemical- and abrasion-resistant with high notch resistance.
Also known as: trailing cable · rubber trailing cable · crane cable
Applications
- Trailing and connecting cable for cranes, conveyors and hoists.
- Construction sites, mining and heavy industry, indoors and outdoors.
What to look out for
- Repair sheath damage straight away with a vulcanising kit; otherwise moisture creeps under the sheath and the cable deteriorates quickly.
- For reeling with torsion choose NSHTOEU.
- Conductor
- Fine-wire stranded tinned annealed copper, class 5 to IEC/EN 60228 (VDE 0295).
- Insulation
- EPR rubber, compound type 3GI3 (DIN VDE 0207-20).
- Inner sheath
- Rubber, compound type GM1b (DIN VDE 0207-21), over the laid-up cores.
- Outer sheath
- Polychloroprene (PCP) rubber, compound type 5GM5 (DIN VDE 0207-21), round, yellow; abrasion-, oil- and weather-resistant.
- Core identification
- Single core black; up to 5 cores colour-coded to VDE 0293-308 (HD 308 S2); from 6 cores black with white numbers; G types with green/yellow protective conductor.
- Rated voltage Uo/U
- 0.6/1 kV.
- Test voltage
- 3 kV.
- Standard
- DIN VDE 0250-812.
- Conductor standard
- IEC/EN 60228 class 5.
- Flame-retardant
- IEC/EN 60332-1-2.
- Oil resistance
- IEC/EN 60811-404.
- Max. conductor temperature
- +90 °C.
- Permitted outer cable temperature, fixed
- −40 °C to +80 °C.
- Permitted outer cable temperature, flexing
- −25 °C to +80 °C.
- Min. bending radius, fixed
- 4 × outer diameter.
- Min. bending radius, flexing
- 10 × outer diameter (15 × without forced guiding).
- Reaction to fire (CPR)
- Outside the scope of EN 50575 (flexible trailing / reeling cable).
NSSHOEU or NSHTOEU?
NSSHOEU
- heavy trailing cable
- without anti-torsion braid
NSHTOEU
- built for reels
- with anti-torsion braid
NSSHOEU is the heavy trailing cable: EPR cores, a rubber inner sheath and a tough, notch-resistant PCP sheath, for cables dragged along behind machines. NSHTOEU adds an anti-torsion braid and is built for reels that wind and unwind all the time. If the cable goes onto a drum or motorised reel, it is NSHTOEU. If it is mainly dragged along, NSSHOEU.

NSSHOEU
- German VDE 0250-812
- 0.6/1 kV
H07BN4-F
- harmonised, EN 50525-2-21
- 450/750 V
NSSHOEU follows the German VDE 0250-812 and is built for 0.6/1 kV. H07BN4-F is harmonised to EN 50525-2-21 and is 450/750 V. Both are heavy rubber cables for very high mechanical stress, in mining, on building sites and on cranes and conveyors. If the specification calls for 0.6/1 kV or a VDE cable, NSSHOEU is the choice; if it calls for a harmonised cable, H07BN4-F.
