PUR drag-chain cable JZ
PUR continuous-flex control cable for drag chains, 300/500 V
The PUR drag-chain cable JZ is built for the energy chain: extra fine-stranded copper, short lay length and a tough PUR sheath for a long flex life. Supplied to order; the lead time is stated in the quote.
The PUR drag-chain cable JZ is a highly flexible multicore control cable for continuous use in moving cable carriers (energy chains, drag chains). The extra-finely stranded bare copper conductors are PVC-insulated and laid up with an optimised, short lay length around a central element for a long flex life; a polyurethane (PUR) outer sheath gives high resistance to abrasion, notching, oils, coolants, UV and weathering. Rated 300/500 V, the cable is designed for continuous flexing in machine tools, handling and automation equipment, robots and production lines. This version is unscreened, with numbered black cores and a green/yellow protective conductor (JZ). Where electromagnetic screening is required, a screened version with an inner sheath and a braid of tinned copper wires beneath the PUR sheath is available on request.

Applications
- Moving cable carriers in machines, robots and production lines.
- Environments with oil, coolant, abrasion and UV.
What to look out for
- Give the chain length, travel speed and number of cycles with the enquiry; the bend radius of the chain must not be smaller than the bending radius of the cable when flexing, or the cores break early.
- Sensitive signal alongside? Choose the screened version.
- Conductor
- Extra-finely stranded bare annealed copper, class 5/6 to IEC/EN 60228 (VDE 0295).
- Insulation
- PVC compound (special continuous-flex grade).
- Screen
- None (unscreened, JZ). A screened version with an inner sheath and a braided screen of tinned copper wires (approx. 85% coverage) is available on request.
- Sheath
- Polyurethane (PUR), oil-, coolant-, abrasion-, notch-, UV- and weather-resistant; grey or black.
- Core identification

PUR drag-chain cable or YSLY-JZ?
PUR drag-chain cable JZ
- PUR sheath
- moving drag chain
YSLY-JZ
- PVC sheath
- fixed installation
YSLY has a PVC sheath and is made for fixed installation and occasional free movement, not for an energy chain that travels back and forth continuously. The PUR drag-chain cable has extra fine-stranded copper with a short lay length and a PUR sheath. As a result the cores reach far more flex cycles and the sheath resists wear in the chain better. For a moving drag chain choose the PUR cable; YSLY is for fixed and occasionally moved control wiring.

screened version
- tinned copper braid
The JZ version is unscreened: numbered black cores plus a green/yellow protective conductor. The screened version has a tinned copper braid under the PUR sheath that protects against electromagnetic interference. Choose the screened version when the cable runs in the chain next to motor or drive cables or carries measurement and control signals itself; for ordinary control wiring JZ is enough.
