H05Z1-K
LSZH insulated flexible wire, halogen-free, 300/500 V
H05Z1-K is the halogen-free single-core wire for 300/500 V: fine-stranded copper with LSZH insulation that gives little smoke and no corrosive gases in a fire. For panel and cabinet wiring in public buildings. Supplied to order; the lead time is stated in the quote.
H05Z1-K is a harmonised single-core, non-sheathed wire with a flexible plain copper conductor of class 5 and a halogen-free, low-smoke thermoplastic insulation, rated 300/500 V and manufactured in accordance with EN 50525-3-31. It is intended for the internal wiring of switchgear, control panels, distribution boards, luminaires and appliances, and for signalling and control circuits in conduit or trunking, in particular where people, equipment or escape routes must be protected against corrosive gases and dense smoke in the event of fire. The wire is available in the cross-sections 0.5, 0.75 and 1.0 mm² in a range of colours; for 1.5 mm² and larger the 450/750 V type H07Z1-K applies. It is not intended for direct burial, outdoor use without protection, or for continuous flexing in service.
Also known as: halogen-free wire
Applications
- Internal wiring of switch and distribution boards in public buildings.
- Signal and control circuits in conduit or duct where low smoke is mandatory.
- Wiring of luminaires and appliances at 300/500 V.
What to look out for
- Halogen-free and low smoke, but flame-retardant, not fire-resistant.
- For 1.5 mm² and larger at 450/750 V use H07Z1-K.

H05Z1-K or H05V-K?
H05Z1-K
- halogen-free insulation
H05V-K
- PVC insulation
Both are fine-stranded wires for 300/500 V and 70 °C, in 0.5 to 1 mm² inclusive. H05V-K has PVC insulation, H05Z1-K halogen-free insulation that gives little smoke and no corrosive gases in a fire. Choose H05Z1-K for enclosure and panel wiring where the specification calls for halogen-free; otherwise H05V-K is sufficient.

H05Z1-K
- 300/500 V
- 0.5, 0.75 and 1 mm²
H07Z1-K
- 450/750 V
- from 1.5 mm²
It is the same halogen-free wire family in two voltage ratings. H05Z1-K is for 300/500 V and is available in 0.5, 0.75 and 1 mm²; H07Z1-K is for 450/750 V and starts at 1.5 mm². H05Z1-K is used for wiring enclosures, luminaires and appliances. For installation wire in conduit or trunking, choose H07Z1-K.
